AMWA Early Career Award 2024 - Winner Announcement
It gives us great pleasure to announce that the winner of the 2024 AMWA Early Career Award is Alexa Arganda. Her article entitled "Mind over matter? Exploring the impact of childhood trauma on the developing brain" stood out to this year’s judges for its insightful overview of a complex and sensitive topic.
With a biomedical science background and a passion for writing, a career as a medical writer seemed a perfect fit for Alexa. Since undertaking an internship at The Medical Republic, Alexa has gone on to embark on a freelance writing journey and is currently providing her services to a range of communications agencies and medical publications.
Alexa believes that by describing research outcomes in a clear, accurate and relevant way, medical writing is central to effectively breaking down complex ideas for a range of readers including mainstream press, consumers and health professionals. And her aim is to have a tangible impact as a writer in the world of medical communications.
We hope you’ll join us in congratulating her and look forward to seeing what her future career will bring.
